Time to Think:
Where does your noise come from? It’s not just noise in our ears.
- It’s noise within our minds.
- It’s noise from old tapes.
- It’s noise from Old relationships.
- Current relationships causing us to struggle.
- It can come from expectations that won’t settle down.
- It’s a drive within us that won’t quiet itself until the timing is better.
This podcast is all about helping you quiet the noise – it’s for you, a Christian women, mom or grandmom,
And I’m here to help you reclaim FamilyLife – this space, this home that should be our safe Haven.
Our Haven of rest.
Our quiet place.
A calm amidst the storm. And that will take work!
In the next few episodes, we’ll be exploring the idea of teaching your kids entrepreneurship.
And one way to do that is to teach them to live above the noise themselves.
Give them lots of opportunities to learn and grow into the person God created them to be.
Give them lots of opportunities to experience new things.
To build self-confidence, to be self-directed, basically to know and believe that they can do and learn pretty much anything they want.
That, my friend, is the beginning of entrepreneurship!
Be willing to look for the parenting areas you may be weak in, and then focus on improving them.
It’s easy to stick with what’s more comfortable. But realize how necessary it is to look for areas you might be missing in your parenting.
- Does one child need extra hugs or more attention to build their confidence?
- Does another need to learn to work harder or need help with some confusing areas of life — even though to you it seems simple?
- Does one need a little push to try something new? Even though you’re afraid they might fail.
At your core, you know this to be true — they’re His children and His next generation in a long line of generations. And you get to be part of that amazing plan!
I believe in you.
I believe God created you and your family, your kids, to do great work with the unique design He gave each one of you.
I want to help you think for yourself. And become the best version, under God, of yourself. And to help those little humans you care for, guide, teach, and love to become their best version of themselves.
With that in place, this world is bound to become a better place – because you and they are in it!
Words to Remember:
Terry Covey @ Living Above the Noise:
- “I’m here to break that bubble and tell you it’s not! Learning is free and it doesn’t usually involve taking a class or learning from an expert. You are wired to explore, learn, and create.”
- “The world is a huge oyster, and you’re the pearl growing and learning, and developing into a whole and beautiful person.”
- “The bonus in having a “thinking” mindset is that you’re showing your kids how to become their own beautiful, God-created pearl!“

- Think about all you heard today. The thoughts and questions and dreams and ideals you have.
- Pray about those to determine what’s most important and valuable.
- Make a Plan to implement those beliefs and values. Write them on a white board or get them printed on a wall hanging. The most important thing is to put them in front of you so you won’t forget them. So you can implement them daily and discuss them over dinner or when you need to discipline a child. Or make decisions with your husband.
- Do! Live them out. Make them your reality. And then watch as your family life transforms as you and your family gain the morale and confidence and trust in God’s plan for your family!
