After reading a recent post at In The Nursery of the Nation on the blessings of giving responsibility to our older children to care for their younger siblings, I had to consider where we’ve come as a family and where we’re headed. The big question arises – What does this looks like for my youngest children as they become older?
I know that seems a far off place for many of you. You still have little ones under foot and you’re either reaping the blessings of those wonderful older children to encourage and add energy to your day, or you’re looking forward to it with eager anticipation! I know – I’ve been there. I have been and continue to be blessed by my older children as they support our family and endeavors. As our children grow, they certainly add energy, ideas, enthusiasm, and focus to our day. This is much needed, as I am often depleted of energy, lack new ideas, and get sidetracked by the complexity of knowing too much – you know – those thoughts of “if’s”, “buts”, and “can’ts” that go on in our mind!
The raising of children really is a give and take relationship. We help them to grow and gain skills and maturity by the tasks and responsibilities we give them – and they give us their ideas, energy, and talents as they seek to discover who they are and what they will accomplish in the place God has put them in His world. It’s a wonderful symbiotic relationship! And it’s been this way for thousands of years. God intended it to be that way. . . . . . . . . .
Today I’m guest posting over at In the Nursery of the Nation.

My good friend and fellow blogger, Bambi, asked me to guest post while she’s recuperating after the birth of her precious baby girl. I think you’ll be inspired by Bambi’s writings, as they are filled with whitty words of wisdom and vision!
Blessings as you raise mighty warriors for Christ!
Behold, children are a gift of the LORD,
The fruit of the womb is a reward.
Like arrows in the hand of a warrior,
So are the children of one’s youth.
How blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them;
They will not be ashamed
When they speak with their enemies in the gate.
Psalm 127:3-5
